A strange OnePlus 11 Concept has been revealed at MWC 2023

OnePlus has recently created a buzz in the technology world by opening a booth at MWC 2023, where they showcased their new OnePlus 11 Concept phone. As a result, the web has been flooded with information and material about this exciting new device. Although the company had already released some information about the phone a day before, now we have a better understanding of its innovations.

The highlight of the OnePlus 11 Concept phone is its active cooling system known as Active CryoFlux. OnePlus invested two years in developing this technology. Which aims to adapt water cooling systems from the PC world into the smartphone case. The goal is to address the heating issues that smartphone users often face during gaming sessions or charging.

The implementation of this technology has resulted in a temperature reduction of 2.1°C during gaming sessions and 1.6°C during charging. Which has resulted in charging times being reduced by 30-45 seconds. Although the actual efficiency of the system is negligible. It is a significant achievement for OnePlus to have adapted such a system into a smartphone.

What makes the Active CryoFlux system visually spectacular is that, when activated, the rear panel of the phone displays an array of sealed tubes. Through which a mixture of water, oil, and powder circulates under the influence of a pump. The transparent lid of the phone reveals the system’s inner workings. Which is not just an imitation of LEDs but an actual implementation of a water cooling system.

To accommodate this technology, OnePlus had to make some sacrifices in terms of the camera and battery capacity of the phone, which has resulted in the phone being lighter than the regular OnePlus 11. Despite the novelty and visual appeal of the technology, OnePlus has stated that there are no plans to sell the OnePlus 11 Concept phone to the public.

The implementation of an active cooling system in smartphones is not new. Gaming phones with built in turbines that implement much more efficient heat dissipation technology have been on the market for some time. It is unlikely that OnePlus will introduce such a system into their regular smartphone lineup. As it is not only costly but also not very efficient.

In terms of specs, the smartphone seems to have the same specifications as the standard model.

In conclusion, the OnePlus 11 Concept phone is an exciting innovation by OnePlus that showcases the company‘s commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology. While the implementation of the Active CryoFlux system is not the most efficient solution for addressing heating issues in smartphones. It is a significant achievement to have adapted a water cooling system into a smartphone. Despite the phone not being available for purchase, it is interesting to see what OnePlus has in store for the future of smartphone technology.
